We are accepting new enrolments in our Flaxmere clinic, for those residing in the Flaxmere area only. 

To enrol at Tōtara Health, please come into the practice (either Nelson Street in Hastings or Flaxmere) and a member of our Customer Services team will assist you to complete an enrolment form. All adults 16 years and over must complete and sign their own enrolment form at the practice.

If you are not a NZ citizen or permanent resident, you will need to bring in your passport or label-less visa at the time of enrolment.

Repeat prescriptions can be ordered over the phone.

An urgent repeat script is $25.00 and will be available 24 hours after the request is made.  

Standard repeat scripts are $19.50 and will be available 48 hours after the request is made.

If you have an automatic payment set up to pay for services at Tōtara Health, you can request an account balance by phoning the surgery.

You can come into Tōtara Health to withdraw a credit balance provided that you have sufficient money in your account.

FREE for patients 24 and under.  For enrolled patients 25 years and over it is $19.50 to see a doctor and $19.50 to see a nurse.  See the Costs page for more information.  A standard Doctors consult is 15 minutes, additional time will be charged. 

If you wish to speak to a nurse please phone our Customer Service team on 873 0101.  One of the team will take a message for the nurse to phone you back.

Our Flaxmere clinic is open until 5:00pm on weeknights and from 9:00am – 5:00pm weekends.  The weekend clinic is available for patients from Flaxmere and Nelson Street with urgent, same day medical needs only.  Please phone on the day for an appointment.

After hours your call will be answered by a phone triage service who can offer you information and advice.

If your test results are normal you will not normally be notified unless you have requested this via your doctor or nurse. If the doctor or nurse wishes to discuss your test results the nurse may phone you or you may be asked to make an appointment.

Please note that our Customer Service team are unable to advise test results over the phone even if they are normal. 

Our Patient Portal, Manage My Health allows patients to securely access their medical records and test results online as well as book appointments and order repeat prescriptions.  Please speak to a member of our Customer Services team if you would like to find out more about Manage My Health

 Tōtara Health has 10 female doctors across both clinics. 

We have acute clinics in Flaxmere and Nelson Street for urgent same day appointments. Please note that these appointments are for patients with urgent, same day medical needs only.
