Looking after a child or children can be both rewarding and challenging. Whether you are a parent, guardian or carer, it is important that you have the right support and information. This allows you to provide the care needed to nuture a child’s healthy development. If you are struggling, its more than ok to ask for help.
Talk to your doctor or nurse about any worries you may have. We are here to help you keep yourself and your child healthy and there are many other people we can put you in touch with such as community health workers and kaiawhina who offer support.
Good food, play and sleep are an important part of a child’s early development. Having the right health checks and immunisations are also crucial to keep your baby well and free from disease. Visit the Immunisation and Health Checks pages for further information.
