Finding Accommodation

Once you have decided where you want to live; in Napier, Hastings or Havelock North, a good starting point for finding accommodation is online or on community notice boards.

You can either rent a house or an apartment or alternatively move into shared accommodation. The New Zealand term for people sharing accommodation is flatmates. This can be a great way to meet people and integrate yourself into the community.

If you prefer your own space, an apartment or house would be a better option. If you need temporary accommodation whilst your looking, many property owners now list their houses on airbnb the international accommodation site and are happy to offer a reduced rate for longer stays.

Most supermarkets have a community notice boards and many landlords leave details of accommodation for rent.
