To enrol at Totara Health please come into the practice (either Nelson Street in Hastings or Flaxmere, depending on where you wish to be enrolled).  A member of our Customer Services team will assist you to complete an enrolment form.   All adults 16 years and over must complete and sign their own enrolment form at the practice.

If you are not a NZ citizen or permanent resident, you will need to bring in your passport or label-less visa at the time of enrolment.

If you have an automatic payment set up to pay for services at Totara Health, you can request an account balance by phoning the surgery.

You can come into Totara Health to withdraw a credit balance provided that you have sufficient money in your account.

FREE for patients under 18.  For patients aged 18 years and over $18 to see a doctor and $15 to see a nurse.  See the Costs page for more information.  A standard Doctors consult is 15 minutes, additional time will be charged. 

If you wish to speak to a nurse please phone our Customer Service team on 873 0101.  One of the team will take a message for the nurse to phone you back.

Our Flaxmere clinic is open until 7pm on weeknights and from 9am – 6pm weekends. Nelson Street patients are able to attend the Flaxmere clinic on weekends.  After hours your call will be answered by a phone triage service who can offer you information and advice.

If your test results are normal you will not normally be notified unless you have requested this via your doctor or nurse. If the doctor or nurse wishes to discuss your test results the nurse may phone you or you may be asked to make an appointment.

Please note that our Customer Service team are unable to advise test results over the phone even if they are normal. 

Our Patient Portal, Manage My Health allows patients to securely access their medical records and test results online as well as book appointments and order repeat prescriptions.  Please speak to a member of our Customer Services team if you would like to find out more about Manage My Health

Repeat prescriptions can be ordered over the phone. Same day scripts need to be ordered before 12pm for collection after 5.00pm and cost $17. Next day scripts are available after 3pm the following day and cost $14.
